Peck ROG Review by Bill Kuhl http://www.scienceguy.org
After building a simple rubber powered free flight plane like the Squirrel, AMA Cub, or Denny Dart a good next step model plane would be a R.O.G. airplane. ROG stands for Rise – Off – Ground which means that a two wheel landing gear is included. This adds little to the complication of the plane but often this type of plane has a curved airfoil and the structure might be lighter than the most basic model plane kits.
The “Peck ROG” has been available for many years but recently has been updated to include some laser-cut parts. Curved laser-cut ribs are included as an option so the wing can be built with flat airfoil or with a curved surface using the curved ribs which was the option I chose. Curved ribs might improve performance slightly but makes covering slightly more difficult. This is most likely the least expensive “ROG” model plane kit which presently is around $5 US.
Construction is almost as simple as the raw beginner planes but the flying surfaces are built from 1/16” square balsa which will break very easily if you are not careful when building the model and handling after construction is done. Smaller wood sizes should be mean lighter weight and better flying performance. Besides the plans there is another sheet of instructions.
This plane can be flown indoors or outside in very light wind. I had built this kit several years ago and lost it. If the Peck ROG should fly into thermal air currents it can easily fly out of sight. At the price of this kit that could be considered “a cheap thrill”.
Hello from Athens Greece.
I made many of this planes and I love it.
Where and how can I find the drawing of this kit.
Do you have a dealer in Greece or in Europe ?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards

The kits are currently out of stock at the manufacturer’s site. https://www.wind-it-up.com/collections/stick-model-kits I suggest you do an Internet search for ‘Peck ROG’.
The plan is copyrighted. I don’t know of a place where you can buy it separately.
Where can I buy a Sky Bunny kit or full size plan sheet?
Bill,
Our Sky Bunny page provides links for plans and kits. If you have been to the new Peck-Polymer web page recently, while it was being constructed, you may need to reload the page. Click on the circling arrow at the top of your screen.
You can get the kit for the Peck ROG at the same Peck-Polymer site referenced on the Sky Bunny page.

I have built several of these with the flat wing. They are a bit delicate and preshrinking the tissue is a great help. Stretched winding a 1/8 motor gives incredible flights, I have lost two of the going out of sight!
